Regret
I chapter 6 of Genesis in “The Bible”, God regrets creating man kind. He says that he saw the wickedness of mankind was great in the earth. He feels that everything would be better if he had not created mankind and left the earth peaceful with the other animals. Since God regrets his decision of making man, he decides he will reverse this decision by annihilating man kind all together. God says that he will “bring a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything on the earth shall die.” (Gen. 6.17)
Regret is one of the worst feelings in the world. When you do something you regret, you may never be able to let it go and hold on to it for the rest of your life. When people regret things, they always wonder what things would be like if they had taken the other path and gone the alternative way. They wonder what their life would be like if they had not done that one thing. Regret can torture people and drive them insane. Some people regret life changing decisions so much that they are willing to hurt themselves and others to fix their mistake.
You make many valid points about regret and the horrors that come with this emotion. It is true when you mention that harboring feelings or regret keeps people trapped in the past and from moving forward, but good points can also be brought to attention. You might want to consider discussing the positive situation that can come from regret and the opposite point of view. Important life education can come from the things that worry us the most and brings the most stress. It is key to work through these feelings and not dwell on the pain from the past. We can learn from our lessons, and the lessons can be used in carrying out future endeavors.

I feel like God does not regret making human kind as much as he is disappointed in the way the human race developed. For God is an omnipotent character and he wants everything to hold up to his standards and if they are not then he must make them so they are.
God’s standards for mankind are not met so, he feels as if it is necessary to punish the people for their wickedness or lack of righteousness.
God’s ways of dealing with his disappointment are very rash and harsh. Even though God does not give mankind an ultimatum, he does however keep the race alive. Which proves that he still has an investment in the outcome of people and does not necessarily mean that he regrets creating them.
